Kimchee ♥

Date of visit - May 2013

My last visit to Kimchee wasn't a good one, we ended up going to a different restaurant as the host was pretty rude. But, anyways this time my friend recommended to go and I always give restaurants second chances. We did go during rush hour and there was already a queue forming however, it was not too long until we got a table.

Photo curtesy of Kimchee. Pretty decor however, if your sitting next to a large loud group I can imagine it to be rather unpleasant

Looks like oj? Nope it's the Far Eastern Delight juice (Mango, grapefruit, orange and pineapple) - £3.60

Portobello mushroom with soya bean sauce and sesame seeds - £3.00
Delicious side dish, flavour was great to take away the other spicy dishes we had.

Dduk Bok Gi (Dukbokki) Rice cakes served with veg in spicy sauce - £5.40

Chicken Bulgogi, tender chicken marinated in fruity spicy sauce  - £7.20

Grilled beef tongue - £7.20
I loved this dish, the beef was tender and although it sounds unpleasant, it was delicious as it didn't taste chewy as I thought it might.

Grilled pork, don't remember the name of this dish

Lemon Sole Gui in Korean bbq sauce with grated radish and sweet potato brisket - £7.80

Jap Chae, glass noodles with beef and veg - £4.90

Seafood Bibimbap - £8.80

Baesuk (Pear with spiced ginger, honey, cinnamon cloves and peppercorn served with dates and green tea ice cream - £5.50
I originally wanted to try a different dessert on their menu however, they had ran out leaving me with this option. The pear and cinnamon was very experimental and I found this odd however they both went well together, the cinnamon overpowered the pear leaving me more interested in the green tea ice cream instead.

Black sesame and strawberry pannacotta with fresh strawberries - £5.95

Overall, the food was outstanding and we definitely did over order wayyy more than we could eat. I do recommend coming to this restaurant if you're after Korean cuisine with a modern twist to it. It is all reasonably priced however, on this occasion the bill came up to £80! Very pricey however, this was due to us too much food.
I have also tried their take away restaurant in Tottenham Court Road which was rather impressive, review to come soon.
