Date of visit - May 2013
On the second day of touring with my friend he really wanted to try fish and chips. After some researching I was originally planning to visit Poppies in Spitalfields but, we were in Covent Garden and I remembered walking past a popular fish and chips restaurant in the past.
We arrived after 9:30pm and to my surprise the restaurant was packed indoor and outdoors (they have 4 large table outdoors with fire heating on). I found the staff to be pretty unorganised as I wanted to be seated indoors and the guy said he would check downstairs and then I was left waiting. I asked another guy and downstairs was actually closing, don't know why I wasn't told this in the first place. What caught my eye was that it was established in 1871!

Cod and chips for £13.50 & mushy peas £2.00
It tasted really good, the batter on the cod was crispy. Not soggy or greasy.
Food 4/5
Price 4/5
Atmosphere 3./5
Staff 3/5
The food was excellent and I assume it would be be pretty hard to find decent fish and chips especially in the West End. Price was reasonable, again because of the location, they do not charge service charge either. The only thing that lost marks was the staff, although I'm not really fussed as in the end I'm here for the food!
Location: 47 Endell Street, London, WC2H 9AJ
